Overview | (2-chloro-5-iodophenyl) (4-fluorophenyl) methanone is an intermediate in the synthesis of empagliflozin. Empagliflozin, a type 2 sodium glucose cotransporter inhibitor, was developed by Boehringer Ingelheim and Lee. SGLT-2 inhibitor is a new type of hypoglycemic drug, mainly by inhibiting the expression of SGLT-2 in the kidney, reduce the renal reabsorption of glucose, increase the excretion of glucose in the urine, thereby reducing plasma glucose levels, its hypoglycemic effect does not depend on β-cell function and insulin resistance. |
