Uses | 3-hydroxy-4-methoxycinnamic acid can be used as a raw material to synthesize tranilast and various tranilast analogs using genetically engineered Saccharomyces cerevisiae strains (cinnamoyl o-aminobenzoate). It is also used for glycosidation to synthesize glycoside compounds. Isoferulic acid has the effects of anti-oxidation, scavenging free radicals, cell protection and anti-virus. used for content determination/identification/pharmacological experiment, etc. |
biological activity | Isoferulic acid (3-Hydroxy-4-methoxycinnamic acid) is a cinnamic acid derivative with anti-diabetic activity. Isoferulic acid (3-Hydroxy-4-methoxycinnamic acid) binds to and activates α1-adrenergic receptors (IC50=1.4 μM), enhances β-endorphin secretion (EC50=52.2 nM) and increases glucose use in vitro. Isoferulic acid also has anti-influenza virus activity. |
