(Ethylen)-methyl-chlorosilan - Introduction
methylvinyl silyl chloride, chemical formula CH3(CH = CH2)SiHCl, often abbreviated as VMS, is an organosilicon compound. The following is a description of its nature, use, preparation and safety information:
Nature:
-Appearance: VMS is a colorless liquid with a special smell.
-Melting point:-95 ℃
-Boiling point: 103 ℃
-Density: 0.88g/cm3
-Stability: VMS is relatively stable at room temperature, but it will react with moisture in the air to produce corrosive gas.
-Solubility: VMS is soluble in many organic solvents, such as ethers, alcohols and chlorinated hydrocarbons.
Use:
- methylvinyl silyl chloride is mainly used as a silicon reagent in organic synthesis, such as a silane reagent in organic synthesis reactions.
-It can also be used as a surfactant, printing and dyeing auxiliary, precursor of silicone rubber and silicone resin, etc.
Method:
methylvinyl silyl chloride is usually prepared by the following reaction:
1. Vinyl dimethyl chlorosilane reacts with hydrogen to produce vinyl methyl dichlorosilane (CH3SiCl2CH = CH2).
2. The vinylmethyldichlorosilane is heated to react with hydrogen in the presence of alkali to generate methylvinyl silyl chloride.
Safety Information:
- VMS is irritating and should avoid direct contact with skin and eyes.
-May be harmful to the water environment, should avoid discharge into the water body.
-appropriate protective measures such as gloves, glasses and protective clothing should be taken when handling and using the VMS.
-If VMS is inhaled or ingested, seek medical advice immediately.
