(S)-isopropyl 2-aminopropanoate hydrochloride - Introduction
H-Ala-OiPr.HCl (H-Ala-OiPr.HCl) is an organic compound, which is the product of the esterification of alanine with isopropanol in the presence of hydrochloric acid.
It is colorless to white crystalline and can be dissolved in water and organic solvents such as ethanol and dichloromethane.
One of the main uses of H-Ala-OiPr.HCl is as acylation reagents and catalysts in organic synthesis. It can be used in the synthesis of polypeptides or other organic compounds, as an acid catalyst or a source of catalysts in certain catalytic reactions.
The method of preparing H-Ala-OiPr.HCl is generally to mix alanine and isopropanol in a certain proportion, carry out esterification reaction in the presence of hydrochloric acid, and finally obtain the product through crystallization, filtration and drying.
