Application | 1, 3-bis (3-cyanoethyl) tetramethyldisiloxane is an organic intermediate that can be used to prepare amino substituted alkoxysilane 1, 3-bis (4-aminobutyl)-1,1,3, 3-tetramethyldisiloxane. 1, 3-Bis (4-aminobutyl) -1,3, 3-tetramethyldisiloxane can be used as a CO2 capture solvent. |
preparation | within 5 minutes, a toluene (10mL) solution containing allyl cyanide (10.1g,151mmol) of 10 μL Karstedt catalyst (4.7wt%Pt in xylene) was added dropwise to a toluene (15mL) solution of tetramethyldisoxane (10.0g,74mmol). After a few minutes of induction, exotherm was observed, and the temperature rose from 23 to 29°C. After the addition, the reaction mixture was heated to 70°C for 48 hours, during which 5 equal parts of the Karstedt catalyst were added. The solvent was then removed and at 105-111°C/0.16 Torr. The product 1, 3-bis (3-cyanoethyl) tetramethyldisiloxane was collected by distillation with a yield of 11.14g(56%). |
