Application | 1-chloro-2-iodoethane can be used as a pharmaceutical synthesis intermediate, 2-dichloroethane as reaction raw material for preparation, can be used for the preparation of 1-(haloalkoxy) -2-alkoxy -5-nitrobenzene compounds, in medicine, pesticide, cosmetics and other industries have a very wide range of uses. |
preparation | 1-chloro-2-iodoethane was prepared as follows: sodium iodide (30.0g,200.0mmol) place in a Soxhlet extraction tube and extract from the vapor of a boiling mixture (500ml) of 1, 2-dichloroethane and acetone (200ml) with condensate over 21 hours. Acetone was distilled from the reaction mixture and then washed twice with saturated nahco3. An aqueous solution of Na2S2O5 (500ml) was dried over MgSO4 and filtered. The solution was fractionated to give 1-chloro-2-iodoethane as a brown liquid. Yield: m = 15.387g(80.8mmol),40%. bp:133 °c. |
