preparation	a solution of β-Resinate (100mg,1.0eq) in DCM(20.0mL) and cooled to 0 °c. PCC(76mg,1.5eq) was added thereto and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 hour. The progress of the reaction was monitored on TLC (Hexane: EA6:1). The reaction was concentrated on SiO2 and purified via column chromatography, eluting with hexane: EA(60:1 → 20:1), to give the pure product 28-desmethyl-B-fragrance ketone (63mg).
biological activity	28-demethyl-β-amyrone (28-norolean-12-en-3-one) is one of the main triterpenes of Pistacia chinensis. 28-demethyl-β-aminone is an antitoxin effective against the toxic effects of staphylococcal enterotoxins (SEs).
