3,5-DI-TERT-BUTYLANILINE - Introduction
3,5-di-tert-butylaniline is an organic compound with the chemical formula C16H25N. It has the following properties:
1. Appearance: 3,5-di-tert-butylaniline is a colorless or light yellow liquid.
2. Solubility: It is soluble in common organic solvents, such as alcohols, ethers and aromatic hydrocarbons.
3. Melting point and boiling point: melting point is about -16 ℃, boiling point is about 200 ℃.
4. Chemical reaction: 3,5-di-tert-butylaniline can undergo typical chemical reactions of aniline, such as substitution reaction and addition reaction.
The main uses of 3,5-di-tert-butylaniline are as follows:
1. As a dye intermediate: it can be used to synthesize dyes, especially positive dyes.
2. As a polymer stabilizer: Because of its good stability to light and heat, it can be added to the polymer to improve its weather resistance.
3. For the synthesis of organic optoelectronic materials: 3,5-di-tert-butylaniline can be used for the preparation of organic solar cells, organic light-emitting diodes (OLED) and other optoelectronic materials.
3,5-di-tert-butylaniline is usually prepared by reacting aniline with tert-butyl bromide. The reaction is generally carried out in an inert solvent, such as a chlorinated hydrocarbon, often with adequate stirring.
Regarding safety information, 3,5-di-tert-butylaniline is relatively safe under general conditions of use. However, since it is an organic compound, the following safety precautions should be taken:
1. Avoid contact with strong oxidants, strong acids and strong bases to avoid chemical reactions.
2. Use to maintain good ventilation conditions, to avoid steam or gas concentration is too high lead to poisoning.
3. Avoid contact with skin and eyes, such as accidental contact, should immediately rinse with plenty of water, and seek medical assistance.
When handling and storing 3,5-di-tert-butylaniline, the relevant operating procedures and safety precautions should be observed.
