Preparation Method:
The preparation of 3-bromo-1,1,1-trifluoropropane is usually carried out by bromination of 3-bromopropane and subsequent fluorination:
1. At low temperature, 3-bromopropane reacts with boron trichlorofluoride (BCl3) to generate 3-bromo -1,1,1-trichloropropane.
2. Subsequently, 3-bromo-1,1,1-trichloropropane was reacted with silver fluoride (AgF) to obtain 3-bromo-1,1,1-trifluoropropane.
