Application | 4-propylphenylboronic acid, also known as p-propylphenylboronic acid, is an organic intermediate that can be used as a suzuki metal coupling reaction raw material. There are reports that it can be used to prepare fluorescent materials. |
preparation | in a 250mL round bottom bottle, magnesium powder (0.72g,0.03mol),4-propyl bromobenzene (2g,0.01mol), tributyl borate (4g,0.02mol), tetrahydrofuran 20mL dried by molecular sieve, and a reflux condenser. After heating to 40 ℃ in the ultrasonic cleaner, ultrasonic radiation is carried out, and the reaction is completed after 1 hour. Add 2mol · L-1 hydrochloric acid 5mL, stir for a while and then separate the organic layer. The water layer is extracted with ethyl acetate (10mL × 2), several layers are combined and washed with water to neutral, and the solvent is removed after drying to obtain to crude product. Recrystallization with ethanol: water = 2 ∶ 1, and drying under reduced pressure to obtain 1.11g of solid powder with 68% yield. |
