Summary:
The present invention discloses a synthetic method of 4-trifluoromethyl ethylene carbonate. Add urea and 3,3, 3-trifluoro-1, 2-propanediol with a molar ratio of 1:1 to 1:4 to the reaction vessel, heat to melt it, and then add a catalyst that accounts for 0.6% to 5% of the total mass of 3,3, 3-trifluoro-1, 2-propanediol and urea, and heat the above mixture to 150°C to 190°C for reaction, the reaction system was vacuumed to 0 ~-0.04MPa, the generated by-product ammonia was discharged, the reaction was cooled to room temperature for 1~6h, and solid-liquid separation and rectification purification were carried out to obtain 4-trifluoromethyl vinyl carbonate product. The invention has the advantages of mild reaction conditions, simple process, economy and environmental protection.

The advantages and disadvantages of its main synthesis methods, including phosgene method, transesterification method and trifluoropropylene oxide carbon dioxide method, were compared.
