5-O-DESMETHYL OMEPRAZOLE - Reference Information
| Use | this drug is a gastric proton pump inhibitor. Omeprazole can be concentrated around the secretory tubules of parietal cells after oral administration, conversion to sulfenamide derivatives. Its sulfur atom binds to the thiol group on the H ,K-ATPase, which inactivates the H pump and reduces gastric acid secretion. The drug can also increase gastric mucosal blood flow, is conducive to the treatment of ulcer disease. It is mainly used for gastric and duodenal ulcer, reflux esophagitis and zhuoai syndrome. It is also effective for patients with poor efficacy of H2 receptor blockers. 5-o-desmethylomeprazole is an impurity of Omeprazole. |
