Preparation Method:
Ethyl 4-isopropyl-6-methyll-2-oxo-1, 2,3, is prepared by a multi-step reaction:
1. first-4-propanone (imidazole-4-propanone) reacts with isopropanol to generate 4-isopropyl-2-methylimidazole (isopropyl);
2. Then 4-isopropyl -2-methyl imidazole is reacted with tert-butyl ketone to generate 4-isopropyl-6-methyl-2-formyl imidazole (pyridine);
3. finally, 4-isopropyl-6-methyl-2-imidazolyl and ethyl acetate are reacted under reducing conditions to generate Ethyl 4-isopropyl-6-methyl-2-oxo-1,2,3, etc.
