7-Amino-heptanoic acid ethyl ester hydrochloride(7-Amino-heptanoic acid ethyl ester hydrochloride) is an organic compound with the chemical formula C9H19NO2 · HCl, which is a white crystalline solid.
Its main use is as a pharmaceutical intermediate for the synthesis of some drugs, such as local anesthetic lidocaine (lidocaine). Because of its good activity and biocompatibility, it is widely used in the fields of medicine and biochemistry.
The preparation method can be obtained by reacting ethyl 7-aminoheptanoate with hydrochloric acid at room temperature. Ethyl 7-aminoheptanoate was first dissolved in absolute ethanol, and then an excess of anhydrous hydrochloric acid was gradually added. Upon completion of the reaction, the hydrochloride salt was precipitated.
