Summary:
a new method for SPME-ICP-MS determination of metal organic compounds was established by using a self-designed double gas path thermal analysis interface unit of solid phase microextraction,SPME) combined with inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (inductively coupled mass spectrometry,ICP-MS). The dual gas path thermal analysis interface unit enables on-line thermal analysis of the sample and synchronously enters the plasma ionization with the pneumatically atomized internal standard solution aerosol. The linear range of the method is 0.05~100 ng/mL, the relative standard deviation is 1.3% ~ 6.6%(n = 5), and the detection limit is 2 pg/mL. The established method has been applied to the determination of tetraethyl lead in synthetic water samples, and the recovery rate of standard addition is 93% ~ 105%.

Summary:
an analytical method for the determination of trace tetraethyl lead in water by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) has been established. Tetraethyl lead in water samples was extracted with n-hexane, and the isotope internal standard naphthalene-d8 was added after the extraction solution was concentrated. The detection limit of tetraethyl lead in 200mL water samples was 0.04 μg/L by GC-MS selective ion method (SIM). The addition recovery rate is 92.2% ~ 103% with good accuracy. The relative standard deviation of 5 parallel determinations is 4.4% ~ 13.3%. The results show that the method is simple, rapid, accurate and practical, and can be used for the determination of trace tetraethyl lead in water.

Summary:
This paper reports a dynamic observation of the 7-year health effects of tetraethyl lead on 30 operators. The results showed that the syndrome of mental failure and autonomic dysfunction were linearly related to the concentration of tetraethyl lead in the air of the working environment. It is suggested that these two diseases can be gradually recovered with the decrease of tetraethyl lead concentration in the air of working environment. Whether urinary lead is an ideal indicator for evaluating exposure to tetraethyl lead is worth exploring.
