Overview	Iron ammonium alum chemical formula (NH4)2SO4 · Fe2(SO4)3 · 24H2O, I .e., ammonium ferric sulfate. Colorless or light purple crystals, density 1.71g/cm3. Water of crystallization was lost at 230 °c. Soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol. Used as a chemical reagent and mordant. It is prepared by mixing ferric sulfate with ammonium sulfate solution, concentrating and crystallizing.
Use	determination of halogen indicator, Silver method indicator, mordant, determination of iron content in Soda Ash in the production of nitrogen fertilizer, analysis of metal salt solution of cyanide, with high iron standard.
