Benzenamine, N-methyl-2,4-dinitro- (9CI) - Introduction
N-methyl-2,4-dinitroaniline(N-Methyl-2, M-DNPA for short) is an organic compound. The following is a description of its nature, use, formulation and safety information:
Nature:
-Appearance: M-DNPA is a yellow crystalline powder.
-Melting point: The melting point of the M-DNPA is 81-84 degrees Celsius.
-Solubility: M-DNPA has a certain solubility in commonly used solvents such as ethanol, ether and chloroform.
Use:
- M-DNPA is mainly used for the preparation of dyes, fluorescent whitening agents and nitrated dyes.
-It is also used as an intermediate in organic synthesis.
Method:
-The preparation method of M-DNPA can be obtained by nitration of methyl -2, 4-diaminoaniline (M-DAA). First, M-DAA is added to concentrated sulfuric acid, and then nitric acid is slowly added. After the reaction is completed, crystallization is carried out to obtain a M-DNPA having a relatively high purity.
Safety Information:
- M-DNPA is a toxic substance, irritating and dangerous.
-Avoid contact with skin and inhalation of its dust. Personal protective equipment such as gloves and protective glasses must be worn.
-When using or operating M-DNPA, it must be carried out in a well-ventilated place to avoid contact with fire sources.
-If taken by mistake or other accidents occur, seek medical help immediately and tell the doctor the name of the chemical used.
