-Then, p-benzoic acid pentafluoride is reacted with nitrous acid to form p-benzoyl fluoride.
-Finally, the benzoyl fluoride and carbonitrile are reacted under alkaline conditions to prepare 3,5-difluoro-4-formylbenzonitrile.
