Physical and Chemical Properties | Chemical properties yellow light red powder. Soluble in water is a red solution, soluble in alcohol and fibrinolytic, insoluble in acetone, insoluble in other organic solvents. When exposed to concentrated sulfuric acid, it is reddish-purple, and after dilution, it generates reddish-brown precipitate; when exposed to concentrated nitric acid, it is blue, and it turns into olive-brown and orange. Its aqueous solution is added with concentrated hydrochloric acid to generate dark reddish brown precipitate, and sodium hydroxide solution to generate dark brown precipitate. When dyeing, the colors of copper and iron ions are dark. Good extraction and dyeing. |
Use | Uses for the dyeing of wool fabrics, also used for the dyeing of paper and leather. It can also be used for the coloration of plastics, wood, spices, pharmaceuticals, aluminium and cement. It can also be used in the manufacture of inks. Its heavy metal salts can be used as pigments. |
