D-histidinol dihydrochloride - Introduction
D-(+)-Histidinol dihydrochloride(D-(+)-Histidinol dihydrochloride) is an organic compound with the chemical formula C6H14N4O2 · 2HCl. It is a derivative of histidine with two hydrochloride groups. It is a white crystal, soluble in water and polar organic solvents.
D-( )-Histidinol dihydrochloride can be used in biochemical and genetic engineering experiments as a biochemical reagent for the preparation of growth selective media. It has anti-biotin resistance and permeability in the growth culture of yeast, bacteria and fungi. It can also be used in yeast gene mutation studies and yeast protein expression studies.
D-( )-Histidinol dihydrochloride can be obtained by reacting D-histidine with formaldehyde under acidic conditions. The reaction product is then reacted with hydrochloric acid to form the hydrochloride salt form. Finally, purification by crystallization gave anhydrous crystals of D-( )-Histidinol dihydrochloride.
Under the correct storage and use conditions, the use of D-( )-Histidinol dihydrochloride is relatively safe. However, it is an irritating chemical that can cause irritation to the eyes, skin and respiratory system. Therefore, it is recommended to wear protective glasses, gloves, face mask and respiratory protection when using. In addition, avoid contact with strong oxidants and strong acids, and store in a dry, well-ventilated place. If contact or inhalation occurs, immediately flush the affected area with clean water and seek medical help.
