Overview | Ding undecalactone is also called δ-undecalactone. Ding undecanolactone has sweet, fruit, milk, cream, butter, ester aroma, wax aroma, coconut aroma and taste. It is a key ingredient in the special fragrance of natural cream. Boiling point 129~130.5 ℃(1 × 133.322Pa), refractive index 1.4564(25 ℃). Made by oxidation of 2-hexylcyclopentanone. It can be used for flavored soft drinks, candy, margarine, ice cream, cold and baked goods. |
preparation | add 140ml of formic acid and 56g of urea-peroxide adduct into a 500ml three-neck flask equipped with a stirrer, a dropping funnel and a thermometer, and stir and dissolve. 28 grams (0.17mol) of 2-hexylcyclopentanone is added dropwise at room temperature, and the dropwise addition is completed in about 1 hour. Add 168ml of water, stir and layer, the water layer is extracted 3 times with 28ml toluene, and the organic layer is combined. Decompression distillation removes toluene from the organic layer, and the control temperature should not exceed 70 ℃. The residue is crude butyl undecylactone with a purity of 85% and a yield of 96%. The crude product is distilled by a vacuum film distillation device, the temperature is controlled to 128 ℃, the pressure is 1.4kpa, and the distilled product is butyl undecanolactone, the purity is 98%, and the yield is 84%. |
content analysis | determined by gas chromatography (GT-10-4) with polar column. |
