Introduction | dicyclopentadiene epoxide is an organic intermediate that can be prepared from dicyclopentadiene by oxidation with hydrogen peroxide or other peroxides. |
preparation | in a threaded test tube, weigh 1.00g of fluorapatite (FAp) and 0.079g(0.021 mmol) of catalyst (CetylPy)3 [PW12O40], and then 0.134g(1.02 mmol) of dicyclopentadiene was added to the above mixed system, further, 0.33 (3.0mmol) of a 31% aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution was added thereto, and the mixture was sufficiently stirred and then allowed to stand at 25 °c. After 96 hours at 25 °c, extraction was carried out with a solvent. The solvent was evaporated to give 0.166g (99% yield, selectivity 99%) of the corresponding dicyclopentadiene epoxide. |
