In vitro study | The newly synthesized bisbenzimidazole derivatives DMA (6c) is evaluated for their cytotoxicity against human tumor cell lines, which are cervix carcinoma cell line (HeLa), breast carcinoma cell line (MCF7) and brain glioma cell line (U87) in comparison to Hoechst. In case of MCF7, the IC 50 is observed at 5.3 μM for DMA. The IC 50 determined in the case of HeLa is 3.4 μM for DMA. |

DMA (trihydrochloride) - Introduction
Nature:
DMA (trihydrochloride) is a colorless crystalline solid, soluble in water and some organic solvents, with a pungent odor. It has the molecular formula C4H13Cl3N and a molecular weight of 191.51g/mol.
Use:
DMA (trihydrochloride) has important applications in chemical and biological fields. It is often used as a catalyst, electrolyte additives, drug synthesis intermediates. In organic synthesis, DMA (trihydrochloride) can be used as a condensation reagent, an initial electron donor, and an amino capture.
Preparation Method:
Generally, DMA (trihydrochloride) can be prepared by reacting dimethylethanolamine (DMEA) with hydrochloric acid under acidic conditions. The trihydrochloride precipitate obtained by the reaction can be purified by crystallization, filtration and washing.
Safety Information:
When using DMA (trihydrochloride), you need to pay attention to the following safety information:
- DMA (trihydrochloride) has a pungent odor, avoid inhaling its vapor.
-During use, avoid contact with skin and eyes. If there is contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
-Wear personal protective equipment such as protective gloves, goggles and face shields during operation.
- DMA (trihydrochloride) should be stored in a dry, well-ventilated place, away from combustibles and oxidants.
-In case of leakage, take appropriate protective measures to avoid splashing to the surrounding environment and personnel.
-In the use and disposal process, should follow the relevant safety procedures and regulations.
