Physical and Chemical Properties	White to yellow powder, odorless, slightly bitter taste. Easily soluble in chloroform, hardly soluble in ether, insoluble in water. Melting point 228-229 ℃.

production method	Method 1:21-deoxy-dehydrocortisol is oxidized to 21-deoxy-dehydrocortisone in acetic acid with chromium trioxide-manganese nitrate and then esterified with propionic anhydride under the catalysis of p-toluenesulfonic acid, again, potassium borohydride was reduced to desperione propionate. Method 2:21-o-methanesulfonyl dehydrocortisol acts in acetic acid with Acetyl nitrate to produce 21-o-methanesulfonyl -11-o-Nitro dehydrocortisol. Then in acetic acid, and sodium iodide and sodium bisulfite to produce 21-deoxy -11-o-nitro-dehydrocortisol. Further esterification with propionic anhydride and denitro removal with zinc dust-acetic acid gave dipirone propionate.
