Uses	Ethyl 4-methylthiazol-5-formate is a key intermediate for the synthesis of ceftorenpivoxil (Cefditoren pivoxil). Cefditoren pivoxil was developed by Meiji Fruit Company of Japan and was listed in Japan under the trade name of Meiact in 1994. Cefitorenpiproxil has a broad antibacterial spectrum against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
synthesis method	we have designed a new process for synthesizing ethyl 4-methylthiazol-5-formate with ethyl 2-chloroacetoacetate as starting material. its main characteristics are as follows:(1) using ammonium thiocyanate and ethyl 2-chloroacetoacetate to prepare ethyl 4-methylthiazol-5-formate, the problems of low yield, complex operation and large amount of waste liquid caused by diazotization reaction and multi-step reaction in the traditional process are avoided;(2) Solvent-free reaction is realized, which greatly simplifies the solvent recovery and treatment process and reduces the cost. The specific synthesis route is as follows:
