General/Typical Procedure: Preparation of N-2-bromobenzoylglycine: Dissolve glycine (0.948g,12.628mmol) in water (50mL), and then dissolve in 2-bromobenzoyl chloride (0.649g,2.957mmol) in aqueous solution. NaOH solution (0.380g,9.500mmol) was added to the solution simultaneously in batches to keep the pH of the mixture slightly alkaline. After adding the parts, stir the mixture vigorously. Crushed ice is added to the solution, and then concentrated HCl is added drop by drop until the mixture is acidified (pH2-3). The mixture was then cooled in a refrigerator, then filtered, washed the precipitate several times with water to remove excess glycine, and then dried under vacuum to give N-2-bromobenzoylglycine, a white crystalline solid (yield 0.565g,74%). Preparation of N-2-iodobenzoyl glycine: As described in N-2-bromobenzoyl glycine, glycine (2.431g,32.383mmol), iodobenzoyl chloride (2.157g,8.950mmol) and NaOH(0.712g,17.800mmol) were reacted to obtain N-2-iodobenzoyl glycine, a white crystalline solid (yield 1.531g,62%).
