H-LYS(FMOC)-OH - Introduction
H-Lys(Fmoc)-OH(H-Lys(Fmoc)-OH) is an amino acid protector commonly used in solid-phase synthesis. It has the following properties:
-Chemical properties: H-Lys(Fmoc)-OH is a white solid, insoluble in water, soluble in organic solvents such as dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) and dichloromethane.
-Functional group: The compound contains an amino group (-NH2) at one end and a carboxylic acid (-COOH) at the other end. The amino group is a side chain functional group of lysine.
- Fmoc protecting group: The amino group of H-Lys(Fmoc)-OH has an Fmoc protecting group, which can protect the amino group during the synthesis to prevent the occurrence of side reactions.
H-Lys(Fmoc)-OH is mainly used in solid phase synthesis to protect amino groups in the synthesis of peptides and proteins. It can form a polypeptide chain by linking with other amino acid monomers, and remove the Fmoc protecting group by a deprotection reaction under basic conditions after the reaction.
A common method for preparing H-Lys(Fmoc)-OH is by reacting lysine with Fmoc-OSu to form the reaction intermediate Fmoc-L-lysine-Osu, which is further reacted with N-protected lysine to form the target product H-Lys(Fmoc)-OH.
