Abstract:
The properties, synthesis and application of 2-ethylhexanoic acid, which has been widely used in recent years, are introduced in this paper. 2-ethylhexanoate is a kind of fine chemical products with high practical value. It is widely used as a drying agent for paint, ink, thickener for ink, catalyst and stabilizer for polymer materials, it can also be used as rubber adhesion promoter and unsaturated polyester promoter.

Abstract:
2-ethylhexanoic acid was produced by oxidative dehydrogenation of 2-Ethylhexanol with sodium hydroxide. The method has higher yield and better application effect than the conventional production method, and the 2-ethylhexanoate prepared by the method can replace the traditional drying agent naphthenate.
