MASTER BATCH - Names and Identifiers
MASTER BATCH - Introduction
A MASTER BATCH(MASTER BATCH) is a form of concentrated pigment or additive used in the preparation of plastic products. It is made by mixing a high concentration of pigments or additives with an appropriate amount of resin base.
MASTER BATCH has the following properties:
1. High concentration: The concentration of pigments or additives in MASTER BATCH is usually very high, so that it can effectively provide the required color or performance for plastic products.
2. Uniform dispersion: MASTER BATCH is made by mixing pigments or additives with resin base material, and then extruding or mixing at high temperature. This process enables the pigment or additive to be uniformly dispersed in the resin base.
3. Easy to use: MASTER BATCH usually exists in the form of granules or powder, which is easy to store and use. Just add the right amount of MASTER BATCH to the appropriate resin, heat and mix to get the desired plastic product.
MASTER BATCH has a wide range of uses, including:
1. Color and effect improvement: MASTER BATCH can be used to provide various colors and special effects for plastic products, such as transparent, metallic luster, fluorescent, etc.
2. Functional improvement: The additives in MASTER BATCH can improve the characteristics of plastic products, such as enhanced heat resistance, oxidation resistance, antistatic properties, flame retardancy, etc.
MASTER BATCH is generally made in two ways:
1. Pigment pre-dispersion method: the pigment and resin base material are mixed together and processed by high shear force equipment to make the pigment uniformly dispersed in the resin, and then crushed into particles.
2. Extrusion method: The pigment and resin base material are put into an extruder in a certain proportion, mixed by high temperature and high shear force, and then formed into pellets through an extrusion die.
General safety guidelines should be followed when using MASTER BATCH. When preparing and handling MASTER batches, care should be taken to avoid inhalation or contact with particles, dust or solutions that may cause harm to human health. During storage and use, MASTER BATCH should be kept in a dry and well-ventilated environment to avoid exposure to fire and high temperature. Use the required personal protective equipment, such as gloves, protective glasses and masks.
