Use | Used in pharmaceutical industry Used as oxidation catalyst, pharmaceutical intermediate, etc. Magnesium bromide can be used as oxidation catalyst and pharmaceutical intermediate. |
production method | (1) it can be obtained by reacting basic magnesium sulfate with 47% hydrobromic acid;(2) magnesium hydroxide is used as raw material and reacted with hydrogen bromide. 2. Add ammonia water to magnesium chloride solution, stir evenly, generate magnesium hydroxide precipitate, filter, wash the precipitate with water until the halogen ion content in the washing solution is qualified. Then water is added to magnesium hydroxide, stirred it into a suspension, and hydrogen bromide gas is introduced for reaction. After the reaction is over, heating, evaporation, concentration, cooling and crystallization to obtain magnesium bromide hexahydrate crystals. 3. Add a small amount of basic magnesium carbonate into dilute hydrobromic acid (47% HBr 55mL, diluted with the same volume of water) to generate CO2, generate magnesium bromide solution at the same time, and filter to remove impurities. The filtrate is heated and concentrated, and the magnesium bromide hexahydrate is precipitated when standing at room temperature. 4. Add ammonia to anhydrous MgCl2 aqueous solution to make Mg(OH)2 precipitate, filter and wash the precipitate until it does not contain Cl-. HBr was introduced in Mg(OH)2 suspension. Magnesium bromide hexahydrate can be obtained by heating and concentration. |
