N,N'-Bis(2-hydroxyethyl)-1,3-propanediamine - Introduction
N,N'-dihydroxyethyl -1, 3-propanediamine, also known as DETA, is an organic compound. Its chemical formula is C4H12N2O2, with two hydroxyl groups (-OH) and one secondary amine group (-NH). The following is a description of some of the properties, uses, methods and safety information of DETA:
Nature:
- DETA is a colorless to yellowish liquid with a pungent odor.
-It is soluble in water and some organic solvents, such as ethanol and benzene.
- DETA is stable in air, but its solution may oxidize.
Use:
- DETA is widely used as a catalyst and crosslinking agent in the chemical industry.
-It can be used to produce polymer materials such as epoxy resin, polyurea and polyamide.
- DETA can also be used to prepare dyes, rubber auxiliaries, fungicides, etc.
Preparation Method:
- DETA can be prepared by reacting glycol amine with malondialdehyde.
-First heat the glycol amine to an appropriate temperature, and then gradually add malondialdehyde dropwise, the reaction product is DETA.
Safety Information:
- DETA is an irritant and may cause irritation to the eyes, respiratory system and skin.
-Use when wearing appropriate protective measures, such as gloves, glasses and face shield.
-Avoid direct contact with skin and eyes. If there is contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
-Pay attention to avoid dust or vapor during operation to avoid inhalation or intake.
- DETA should be stored in a dry, well-ventilated place, away from fire and oxidizing agents.
Important note: When using any chemicals, please strictly follow the safety operating procedures and operate according to the material safety data sheet. For more detailed information, please refer to the relevant literature.
