Use | N,N-dimethylmethanesulfonamide is an organic intermediate. |
Preparation | N,N-dimethylmethanesulfonamide is obtained by methylsulfonyl chloroacyldimethylamine. Triethylamine (1.01g,10mmol) was added to dimethylamine (10mmol) solution dissolved in 20mL CH2Cl 2 at -20 ℃. Methanesulfonyl chloride (15mmol) was then added slowly at -20°C. After stirring from -20°C to room temperature for 6 hours, an aqueous solution of NH4Cl (3 mL) was added to the reaction mixture. The solution was extracted with CH2Cl 2(3 × 50mL), the combined organic phase was washed with H2O(3 × 10mL) and brine, dried with MgSO4, filtered and concentrated in vacuum. The residue was purified by silica gel chromatography using hexane-ether (10 ∶ 1) as eluent to give a sulfonamide. |
