| Use | Penicillin G acylase (Penicillin G amidase E.C.3.5.1.11) can catalyze hydrolysis of penicillin G and its ring expander cephalosporin G to produce 6-APA and 7-ADCA. 6-APA and 7-ADCA are two important intermediates of semi-synthetic β-lactam antibiotics. Penicillin G acyl can also be used to catalyze other half-formin penicillin and cephalosporins. |
