Polyethylene glycol isostearate - Names and Identifiers
Polyethylene glycol isostearate - Physico-chemical Properties
Polyethylene glycol isostearate - Introduction
PEG 200 MONOISOSTEARATE, also known as POE(POP) or Polyoxyethylene (POE).
Nature:
- POE is a colorless to pale yellow viscous liquid, soluble in water and most organic solvents.
-It has excellent surface activity and wettability, and can form an emulsified, dispersed and stable system between water and oil.
-The molecular weight of POE can be adjusted, and its physical and chemical properties will also change.
Use:
- POE is commonly used as a surfactant for the manufacture of detergents, emulsifiers, wetting agents and other chemical products.
-It is widely used in industry, medicine, pesticides, dyes, food, cosmetics and other fields.
Preparation Method:
The preparation of
- POE is usually obtained by polymerization.
-First, the isooctadecene is reacted with carbon monoxide gas to obtain the corresponding acetate.
-Then, the acetate is epoxidized with ethylene oxide to produce POE.
Safety Information:
- POE has good safety under regular use.
-However, for high concentrations of POE, contact with the skin may cause irritation.
-Avoid direct contact with eyes and skin during use, and take personal protective measures, such as wearing gloves and goggles, if necessary.
-In storage and handling, pay attention to avoid high temperature and fire.
