Quartz cotton - Introduction
Quartz cotton, also known as Quartz fiber cotton, is an insulating material made of Quartz fiber. It has the following properties:
1. High temperature stability: Quartz cotton can withstand high temperature environments and maintain stable physical and chemical properties for a long time.
2. Corrosion resistance: Quartz cotton has high resistance to corrosive substances such as acids, alkalis and salts.
3. Wear resistance: Quartz cotton has good wear resistance and can be used in some fields that require wear resistance.
4. Electrical Insulation: Quartz cotton is a good electrical insulation material, which can be used for insulation isolation in electronic and electrical engineering.
The main uses of Quartz cotton include:
1. Insulation isolation: Quartz cotton is commonly used in electronic and electrical equipment isolation material, can protect the equipment from electric shock and electromagnetic interference.
2. High temperature protection: Because Quartz cotton has good high temperature stability, it can be used as a heat insulation material in high temperature furnaces to protect the surrounding environment and equipment.
3. Filter material: Quartz cotton's fiber has a small pore size and can be used to filter particulate matter, such as air filters and liquid filters.
There are two general methods of making Quartz cotton:
1. Melt spinning method: Quartz ore is heated to a molten state, and then formed into fibers by rotating or spraying, and then stretched and cooled to finally form Quartz cotton.
2. Chemical vapor deposition method: the inorganic material in the gas is converted into Quartz fiber by chemical reaction, and then stretched and cured to prepare Quartz cotton.
For safety information, Quartz cotton is a relatively safe insulating material. However, during the preparation of Quartz cotton, if proper protective measures are not taken, Quartz dust may be generated, and long-term inhalation of Quartz dust may cause Quartz pneumoconiosis. Therefore, when using Quartz cotton, appropriate protective measures should be taken, such as wearing masks, gloves and protective glasses, and maintaining good ventilation conditions. In addition, because the fiber of Quartz cotton is less irritating, exposure to the skin may cause irritation or sensitive reactions, please avoid direct contact with the skin.
