In the case of heating to near boiling, 10% dilute sulfuric acid and 30% hydrogen peroxide were added to remove soluble barium salts and iron. The clarified solution was filtered, concentrated to 42-430Be by evaporation, cooled to crystallize, centrifuged, and dried at 220-250 °c to obtain anhydrous strontium chloride.
