tert-Butyl-(2-iodoethoxy) dimethylsilane is a colorless to pale yellow liquid. It has low volatility and good solubility, soluble in organic solvents such as ether and methylene chloride.
Use:
tert-Butyl-(2-iodoethoxy) dimethylsilane is commonly used as a reagent in organic synthesis. It can be used as a silane-based reagent to participate in Lewis acid-catalyzed reactions, such as the oxidative hydrogenation of silicon ilefin-type catalysts.
