| Physical and Chemical Properties | Urease is a white fine crystalline powder. Soluble in water, insoluble in organic solvents such as alcohol, ether, acetone, etc. Isoelectric point = 5.0~5.1, the optimum ph is 8.0. Enzyme activity is inhibited by heavy metal ions. It can catalyze the hydrolysis of urea to ammonia and carbon dioxide.
