6-methyl-2-(4-methylphenyl)imidazo[1,2-a]-pyridine-3-acetate,methyl ester is an organic compound with the chemical formula C17H16N2O2.
Nature:

Use:

Method:
6-methyl-2-(4-methylphenyl)imidazo[1,2-a]-pyridine-3-acetate,methyl ester can be synthesized by the following steps:
1.4-methyl benzaldehyde and ethyl acetate are reacted to obtain the corresponding 4-Methyl phenyl ethyl acetate.
2. Reaction of ethyl 4-methylphenylacetate with formaldehyde and naphthylimidazole in the presence of a catalyst gives 6-methyl -2-(4-methylphenyl) imidazole [1,2-a] pyridin-3-ol.
3. Finally, 6-methyl-2-(4-methylphenyl) imidazole [1,2-a] pyridin-3-ol was reacted with formic acid to give 6-methyl-2-(4-methylphenyl)imidazo[1,2-a]-pyridine-3-acetate,methyl ester.
