n-Heptyl bromide - Introduction
Insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol, ether and other organic solvents. It can be hydrolyzed to n-heptanol, and ammonolysis to n-heptamine. Reacts with magnesium in dry ether to form Grignard reagent, and through Wurtz reaction (Wtirtz reaction) to form n-decatane.
