Descriptions | Dodecafluoroheptyl methacrylate is easily copolymerized with other acrylic monomers in solution, and its copolymer is particularly suitable for preparing coatings. By copolymerizing dodecafluoroheptyl methacrylate with acrylic monomers used in coatings, the chemical stability, weather resistance, hydrolysis resistance, hydrophobicity, and oil repellency of coatings can be improved. This coating can form a coating with good adhesion and strength during the drying process at room temperature. It can copolymerize with monomers with active functional groups such as (methyl) acrylic acid, hydroxyacrylate, and hydroxyacrylamide to form thermosetting copolymer resins with reactive functional groups. This resin can solidify at room temperature or lower temperatures under the action of crosslinking agents. Due to the presence of multiple fluorine atoms in dodecafluoroheptyl methacrylate and its strong hydrophobicity, the phenomenon of coating powdering, cracking, and decreased glossiness caused by monomer hydrolysis is reduced. Moreover, with the addition of dodecafluoroheptyl methacrylate in the copolymer, the pollution resistance is greatly improved. Dodecafluoroheptyl methacrylate has the properties close to the typical acrylic monomer, and can also be used for lotion polymerization. As a fluorine-containing monomer, due to the surface activity effect of fluorine, in order to improve the stability of lotion during polymerization, fluorine-containing emulsifiers can be used for polymerization. It is difficult to polymerize dodecafluoroheptyl methacrylate under light irradiation, and it is particularly suitable for copolymerization with certain UV polymerization monomers, using the resulting copolymer as a UV cross-linked resin. It can be used as a component of various special coatings, and due to its excellent chemical stability, this compound is used as a protective coating for aircraft |
