Descriptions | Methyl ethyl ketone peroxide, abbreviated as MEKP, is a colorless and transparent oily liquid with a relative density (15 ℃/4 ℃) of 1.042. Stable at room temperature, explosion occurs when the temperature exceeds 100 ℃. Flash point 50 ℃. The actual use is a 50% to 60% MEKP solution of dimethyl phthalate. The decomposition temperature is 105 ℃. Soluble in benzene, alcohol, ether, and ester, insoluble in water. Low toxicity. When mixed with reducing agents, sulfur, and phosphorus, it can become an explosive mixture. There is a risk of combustion and explosion when encountering high temperatures and violent collisions. Mainly used as a room temperature curing agent for unsaturated polyester resins, initiator for organic synthesis, bleach, and fungicide. |
