Descriptions | Cobalt oxide, with the chemical formula CoO, is a metal oxide that appears as a black or grayish black powder and is insoluble in water, alcohol, and ammonia. It is usually used as the main raw material for producing hard alloys, super heat-resistant alloys, insulation materials, and magnetic materials, as well as a catalyst and dye in the chemical industry. Mainly used as a catalyst, paint pigment, glass coloring agent, and also as a raw material for manufacturing positive electrode materials for lithium batteries. Cobalt oxide is mainly used in the production of samarium cobalt alloys. Cobalt oxide is also used in the production of pigments and glazes for hard alloys, magnetic materials, glass, enamel, ceramics, and other applications. |
