Descriptions2-Aminobenzothiazole, also known as 2-benzothiazolamide, appears as a white powder and is a dye intermediate. Melting point 129~130 ℃. Soluble in ethanol, ether, and chloroform. Difficult to dissolve in water. It does not decompose during distillation. Mainly used as a dye intermediate for the production of cationic violet 3RL, and also used for the synthesis of 3-methylbenzothiazolium hydrazone for the production of cationic violet 2RL. It is also a raw material for other organic synthesis.
