Descriptions | Diethylene glycol dimethacrylate (DEGDMA) is an important organic compound belonging to the class of methyl methacrylate compounds. It is a bifunctional compound formed by the reaction of diethylene glycol and methacrylic acid. As a common crosslinking agent and monomer, diethylene glycol dimethacrylate has a wide range of applications in many fields. The molecular formula of diethylene glycol dimethacrylate is C12H18O5, with a molecular weight of 242.27. It is a colorless or pale yellow viscous liquid with a slight irritating odor. At room temperature, DEGDMA has high viscosity and low volatility. Its boiling point is about 200 ℃, flash point is about 150 ℃, soluble in organic solvents such as ethyl acetate and acetone, and slightly soluble in water. Due to the presence of two methacrylate functional groups, DEGDMA can copolymerize with other monomers through free radical polymerization to form a polymer network structure. |
