Retinyl acetate is a synthetic acetate ester form derived from retinol and has potential antineoplastic and chemo preventive activities. Retinyl acetate (10 μM) inhibits the proliferation of tumor cells (such as melanoma cell lines B 16 and S91, inhibition rate: 48%, 79% respectively)[2].
