Dichloro-(2,2)-p-cyclic aryl alkane (English name: 1,1 '-dichloro -2,2'-diphenylethane, chemical formula: C12H10Cl2) is an organic compound, commonly abbreviated as DDT. The following is a description of the nature, use, preparation and safety information of DDT:

-Insecticides: DDT is also used to control parasites such as lice and fleas.
-Wartime Application: During World War II, DDT was used to control the spread of diseases such as malaria and typhus by lice and mosquitoes.
Preparation Method:
The synthesis of DDT is generally obtained by the reaction of styrene and hydrogen chloride to obtain dichloroethylene hydride, and then a replacement reaction occurs in the presence of aluminum chloride and a catalyst, and finally DDT is obtained.
