The N-acetyl derivative of N-acetyl N-acetylmuramic acid-based cell wall acid is a disaccharide repeat unit that forms N-acetyl-β-D-glucamine (1 → 4)-N-ethylphthale-β-D-cell wall acyl (1 → 4) in the cell wall peptidoglycan of the bacterial cell wall. The carboxyl group of the cell wall acid is bound to a short peptide containing D-amino acid, which forms the basic skeleton of a strong cell wall molecule. There are enzymes in bacterial cells that catalyze the condensation of UDP-N-acetylglucosamine and phosphoenolpyruvate, thereby biosynthesis of UDP-N-acetylteichoic acid, and continue to be under the action of a series of peptide synthetase that requires ATP, First bind L-alanine, and then combine with other amino acids successively. The glucoside bond linked to N-acetyl teichoic acid can be widely used by the animal kingdom.
