| biological activity | Taccalonolide A is a microtubule stabilizer, a steroid isolated from Tacca chantrieri, with cytotoxicity and antimalarial activity. Taccalonolide A can cause G2-M phase retention, Bcl-2 phosphorylation and apoptosis. Taccalonolide A has significant inhibitory effect on cell lines overexpressing p glycoprotein (Pgp) and multidrug resistance protein 7 (MRP7) in vitro, and the IC50 value of inhibiting SK-OV-3 cell growth is 622 nM. |
