3-(Triphenylphosphonium) propane -1-sulfonate, also known as TPPTS, is an organophosphorus compound. Its chemical formula is C18H21O3PS3.

TPPTS is a white crystalline solid that is soluble in water and organic solvents such as alcohols and ketones. It has stable properties and can exist stably in a wide temperature range.

TPPTS is widely used as a catalyst and ligand in organic synthesis. It can form complexes with transition metals for accelerating various chemical reactions, such as hydrogenation, oxygenation, reduction and asymmetric synthesis. Due to its high efficiency, high selectivity and recyclability, TPPTS is widely used in the fields of drug synthesis, fine chemical synthesis and material science.

TPPTS is usually prepared by reacting 3-(triphenylphosphinic) propane with sulfuric acid to obtain the sulfate salt of TPPTS. The sulfate salt is then treated with a base to give the free acid or sodium salt of TPPTS.
